You can visit both places but don't expect to see Gira falls in all its glory. August would be a good time.

You can see Sunrise and sunset point. Saputara. ...Satpura lake.... Saputara Museum.... Artist Village.... Vansda National park....... Gira falls.... Hatgadh Fort... These are some places you can visit near and around Saputara.... Just a few kilometers away from Satpura lake near Nasik road lies a beautiful village which exhibits spectacular artifacts of Bamboo, clothes and many other things... you can visit this place if you are interested in such artifacts Vansada Forest.... this Forest which belonged to Vansda is rich in greenery and covers twenty four kilometers square of area and has Vansda- Waghai state highway and Railway link connecting Ahwa and Bilmora running through it. Gira Waterfalls is a bit far from Saputara.. but its a good waterfall you can enjoy bathing and if you like eating non-veg you can also eat freshly prepared non-veg and also good veggies items .... not sure about the water now... coz its alread 2 months now for rainy season to get complete... but you can take a chance if you are lucky enough you can get water.... enjoy with kids and have fun bathing.... Hathgadh Fort this was built by Maratha ruler Shivaji is a perfect spot for relaxation and to grasp in the picturesque panorama as the breeze caress your happy faces. Regarding hotels I had stayed in GTDC hotel its a good option and budget but you can find many hotels in and around Saputara.... and food is not a problem there... I hope this is useful to you ... enjoy your tour...
