Lovely little beach if you want to explore. Can only access by boat, which you get in Akrotiri. There's no facilities or restaurant so take your own water and snacks. Snorkeling isn't great but none … Full review by kmH7618YT

White Beach is a secluded spot which is difficult to get to and is off the beaten track. We were able to see it from our boat. Most Santorini cruises take you past this part of the coastline, where … Full review by Mairwen1

There are many people doing reviews on here who saw this beach from a distance on a boat trip. They tell you that you can't access the beach at all and the only way to see it is by boat. Wrong!!! Ye… Full review by jordanellie41
Hey, my parents who are 60+ years are visiting Santorini this month. What is the best way to cover white, black and red beaches? TIA

A trek of about twenty minutes on a rough path is necessary to access Red Beach from the parking area. Then, due to the potential for falling rocks, it's probably best to view it from the edge without entering the beach proper. My husband did that and said it was better that I hadn't tried it. We're seventy-ish. White Beach is then accessed via water taxi from Red Beach but I don't think it's running any longer. It's probably best for them to view these magnificent formations from the water. We took a wonderful sailboat tour that passed them. I do wish I could have actually "gone to the beach" but we got close enough and traveled slowly enough for a good look. There are several black beaches that are easily accessible. (Car, taxi, tour bus) We enjoyed swimming from the boat despite the icy May water but it's supposed to be warmer in September and October. Air temp was perfect. We stayed on the Caldera side rather than on the beach and enjoyed those views more than the black beaches. A trail from Fira to Oia is a great way to take it in. It's an amazing island and we hope to return.
We are renting a car to visit the southern and middle part of the island. Can we take the boat from Akrotiri to visit the 3 beaches? Do we have to get off the boat? How long is the round trip ride? 5 euros? We are going in the middle of Oct. I thought this would be the best way to see all 3 of them in one day and still give us time to visit a winery and Exo Gonia. Or is that too much for one day? Thank you in advance for all your help!

I'm not sure about the boat and getting on and off. We were on the island for 10 days and we rented ATV's to tour all over. The route you describe is very short so you could do what you are thinking in one day no problem BUT you wouldn't be spending much time in any one spot. Enjoy it is beautiful.
