Authorities in New York have arrested a Canadian man who reported his 9-year-old daughter missing before she was found dead

Police later alleged that authorities "identified inconsistencies in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided" and determined that there was no evidence of an abduction.

A Canadian man has been charged with murdering his 9-year-old daughter after she was found dead in a wooded area of upstate New York, state police said.

The authorities on Sunday found the body of a 9-year-old girl who had been reported as missing and possibly abducted in a Northern New York community.

He has since been charged with murder and concealment of a human corpse in connection with her death.
