Bed Bath and Beyond executive chairman Marcus Lemonis said he won't reopen retail stores in California, taking a shot at Gov. Gavin Newsom and calling the state a risky environment for business.

Bed Bath & Beyond is making a comeback —but not in California. Executive Chairman Marcus Lemonis announced on Aug. 20 that the company will not reopen any state brick-and-mortar stores, opting to serve its 39 million residents solely through delivery.

Well, Newsom's latest target is the retail chain Bed Bath & Beyond, which is officially making a comeback after filing for bankruptcy and closing all 360 stores in 2023. The retail chain's executive chairman, Marcus Lemonis, recently announced that the franchise will not open any new stores in the state of California.
