City leaders in Isleton are scheduled to vote on a recommendation to layoff are paid firefighting staff in an effort to deal with a budget shortfall.

All paid firefighters at the Isleton Fire Department, the assistant city manager, the accounts payable clerk and the city building inspector were laid off in a unanimous vote by the city council.

The Isleton City Council voted to approve a recommendation to lay off all paid fire department staff at a special meeting on Tuesday night.
