The Green Bay Packers made the move to bring in TCU Horned Frogs standout wide receiver Savion Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. Fans were surprised to see the team use the No. 87 overall pick on a wide receiver after taking Matthew Golden at No. 23 overall to begin the draft.

As shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the Packers have announced that Golden will wear the No. 22 jersey instead of No. 81. ESPN currently has Golden listed as the No. 3 wide receiver on Green Bay's depth chart. There is a good chance he will have a role right off the bat with the Packers.

Matthew Golden was well aware that the Green Bay Packers hadn’t selected a wide receiver in the first round since 2002. But that didn’t shake his confidence.
