Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been ruled out for Wednesday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons. The Grizzlies are calling it a left knee contusion for Morant, which is a different injury than the one that had sideline him for eight games.

The Grizzlies are favored against the Pistons, but Detroit is a much more respectable team than recent seasons. The Pistons are ranked 10th in defensive efficiency with former Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff leading the way. Memphis will be without Ja Morant, who is out due to a left knee contusion. Zach Edey also remains out with an ankle injury.

Ja Morant made an immediate impact with the Memphis Grizzlies in his return to the lineup after missing eight games — and almost three weeks — with hip and pelvic muscle injuries.
