This week, the Hamnet actress—highly favored to win the Oscar for Best Actress next Sunday—is going viral due to a resurfaced interview from November, in which she told a story about how she made her now-husband get rid of his cats early in their relationship.

Speaking on the podcast Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz in November, Buckley confessed that her disdain for cats ran so deep that she made her now-husband, Freddie Sorensen, a former TV producer, get rid of his as a condition of moving in together.

The cat hate continued this week when a clip resurfaced from late last year that showed “Hamnet” costars Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley sharing their distaste for cats after being posed the low-hanging-fruit question of whether they prefer cats or dogs.

"That's a red flag that they could be super controlling about other things too," shared one social-media user.
