Netflix's new true crime docuseries, "Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey ," has brought the tragic 28-year-old murder of the 6-year-old beauty queen back into the headlines, raising the stark question of whether the identity of her killer will ever be uncovered.

Police released their annual update on the investigation a little earlier due to the increased attention on the case due to the Netflix series "Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey."

Authorities in Colorado are refuting claims that there is potential evidence and leads about the 1996 killing of JonBenet Ramsey that they are not tracking.

Without specifically addressing the docuseries, Boulder Police called many of the claims in the show "completely false."

The docuseries debuted on Nov. 25 on Netflix as an investigative series about JonBenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old who was reported missing from her home in Boulder on Dec. 26, 1996. The family of the beauty pageant star later found her dead in the basement of the home.
