Meta has filed a lawsuit against a Hong Kong-based firm for promoting ‘nudify’ apps that create AI-generated explicit images without consent. The legal action is part of Meta's effort to address the increase in non-consensual sexual content and enhance user protection.

Meta said in a blog post that it is suing Joy Timeline HK Limited, the entity behind CrushAI apps, which allow people to create AI-generated nude or sexually explicit images of individuals without their consent.

Meta is suing the Hong Kong-based maker of the app CrushAI, a platform capable of creating sexually explicit deepfakes, claiming that it repeatedly circumvented the social media company’s rules to purchase ads.
