Meta is to give users the ability to link their WhatsApp account with Facebook and Instagram, the social media giant has said.

If you were surprised to see yourself suddenly following President Donald Trump on Instagram and Facebook this week, it’s not because Meta forced you to, the social media company says.

The company is working towards creating a unified ecosystem that links all three platforms: Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

WhatsApp upgrades its platform from time to time. The company keeps adding new features to the app every few days. So that the user experience can be improved. Now the company is testing a new music feature for status updates.

Meta will soon allow WhatsApp users to share their ephemeral status updates as “Stories” on their Instagram and Facebook accounts.
