Hicks and Otto Lopez opened the sixth with singles, and two batters later Eric Wagaman poked a single to right off reliever Brad Lord to give the Marlins a 2-1 lead.
And the presence of ace MacKenzie Gore on the mound couldn’t keep the Nationals from seeing their losing streak reach eight with a 3-1 loss to the Marlins.
