The campaign for Mayor Jacob Frey is challenging the Minneapolis DFL endorsement of his rival, Minnesota Sen. Omar Fateh. According to a news release from Frey's campaign, the challenge was filed with the Minnesota DFL on Monday.

The state senator snatched the DFL endorsement over two-term incumbent Jacob Frey, whose campaign is contesting the results. Their contest will test more moderate Democrats against the party’s energized base.

The Minneapolis DFL held its convention on Saturday at Target Center, and Jacob Frey did not get the endorsement for mayor.
