Russia launches massive attack on Ukraine capital despite US peace plan hopes

Russia launched its largest barrage of drones and missiles in a month across Ukraine, killing at least three people, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday, as a Kyiv delegation heads to the United States for fresh peace talks.
The attack came as U.S. officials were expected to hold peace talks with Ukrainian and Russian officials in the coming days.
In Russia, a major oil terminal near the port of Novorossiysk stopped operations Saturday after a strike by unmanned boats damaged one of its three mooring points, according to a statement from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, or CPC, which owns the terminal.
Russian drone and missile attacks in and around Kyiv killed at least three people as the country’s representatives traveled to the U.S. to work on a renewed push to end the war.
The attack killed at least seven people in Kyiv, the authorities said, as Moscow suggested it would resist changes negotiated by Ukraine.
"If this is true, then we have a major problem, Houston," wrote Estonian lawmaker Marko Mihkelson, in response to the report.
