The opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics is fast approaching, and, with it, one of the most cherished traditions of the Games: the parade of delegations. Each Olympics typically begins with the Head of State of the host country and the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) entering the venue.

The Winter Olympics got underway Wednesday with the first curling matches in Cortina, but came to a halt only moments later because of a power outage.

Italian duo Stefania Constantini, who is from Cortina, and Amos Mosaner are the defending world and Olympic champions in mixed doubles.
