THOUSANDS of Australians, New Zealanders and Turks have trekked from Anzac Cove to Lone Pine Cemetery to mark the August 1915 battle in which 2000 Australians and 7000 Turks were killed or wounded.
The painting depicts formal lines of official Anzac war graves at Lone Pine Cemetery in Turkey. The names and ages of the youngest soldiers to die at Gallipoli are stencilled across the entire canvas.
