Richmond County students compete in district spelling bee
Richmond County elementary and middle school students competed in a spelling bee on Friday. Dawdle is just one of the words the students had to spell. We caught up with the first and second-place winners after the spelling bee on how they felt about the district.
Students make every letter count at Santa Fe spelling bee
One speller at this year's County Spelling Bee couldn't help but laugh when she was asked to spell the word "anxiety." The irony wasn't lost on Friday's audience either, which was full of anxious parents and family members who gathered in the Susan Lumley Gymnasium at the Academy for Technology and the Classics to support their loved ones.
District Spelling Bee winners
Jackson Academy students who placed first in the JA Spelling Bee advanced to the MAIS District Bee held in December. Louisa Clare Thigpen came in second in the fifth grade category and will advance to the  Overall Bee in January.
