AWS has launchd Ocelot, its first quantum computing chip, bringing it into line with its big cloud rivals Microsoft and Google.

Amazon Web Services on Thursday showed a quantum computing chip with new technology that it hopes will shave as much as five years off its effort to build a commercially useful quantum computer.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Thursday announced Ocelot, a new quantum computing chip that can reduce the costs of implementing quantum error correction by up to 90 percent, compared to current approaches.
