Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” and Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office in May, driving the market to a robust £109.1 million ($147.7 million) total that represents a 50% increase over the same period last year, according to Comscore.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has set a new record with its "excellent" debut at the US box office. The eighth (and possibly final) instalment of the action series hit US cinemas this Friday, collecting $63 million during its opening weekend.
