The team from Summerlin South Little League representing Las Vegas, Nevada, will play for the Little League World Series title on Sunday afternoon. Las Vegas defeated Connecticut, 8-2, to win the United States championship on Saturday.

Summerlin South’s journey to the U.S. Championship game in the Little League World Series began on Aug. 13, when Nevada defeated Illinois in blowout fashion by 16-1. On Aug. 15, Nevada played Washington clinching a 5-3 victory that led to a showdown against South Carolina.

Summerlin South enters Saturday's championship game seeking Nevada's first-ever Little League World Series title. The team secured the state's first trip to Williamsport after going undefeated with a 3-0 record in the Mountain Region.
