There’s also an “ESP8266 IoT SDK”, but from a quick glance at the code, this appears to be an SDK for the SOC on the module, not a simple way to connect the module to a microcontroller.

This board is a complete Internet radio based on ESP8266 Module and the Arduino. The board has a stereo earphone jack plus two speaker connectors and a on-board 2.5w HiFi amplifier.
