They rode for freedom — freedom from pants. Hundreds of bicyclists, most of them dressed in their underwear, took to the streets and trails of Minneapolis Friday on an annual ride that offered a unique way to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Fireworks exploded all over the country as the U.S. celebrated the day the Declaration of Independence was adopted.

The City kicked off its roughly 20-minute fireworks spectacular over the water, with thousands of celebrants in attendance.
