The special election to fill House District 34B in Anoka and Hennepin Counties will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

The special election to fill the seat vacated by the assassination of Rep. Melissa Hortman will happen in September.

A spokesperson for the Secretary of State's Office told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that the office hasn't yet responded to the letter.

Hortman represented House District 34B, a district that includes Brooklyn Park, as well as parts of Champlin and Coon Rapids.
