Palestinian health workers say an Israeli strike on a built-up refugee camp in the occupied West Bank has killed two people as a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip entered a third day.

The action came a day after President Donald Trump said he will lift sanctions on ultranationalist Israeli settlers who attacked Palestinian villages.

The Israeli military killed at least seven Palestinians in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday as the prime minister announced the start of a “large-scale military operation” in the restive city of Jenin.

Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, who has commanded the Israeli military throughout 15 months of war in Gaza, said he was resigning over its failure to protect against the 2023 assault.

The Attorney General has suggested Israel’s actions in the West Bank and Gaza could “amount to apartheid”. In 2023, Lord Hermer signed an open letter claiming Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is led by a “far-Right” coalition and that the international court in The Hague could rule its actions meet the legal definition of apartheid.

The company fulfilled requests from Israel’s military for more access to AI tools, as it sought to compete with Amazon, documents obtained by The Post show.

The announcement came shortly after President Trump rescinded Biden-era sanctions on Israeli settlers and Jewish extremists raided Palestinian villages in protest against the cease-fire in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the assault on Jenin would be “extensive and significant,” as the military erected new checkpoints across the West Bank.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said on Tuesday he did not see Donald Trump's new administration increasing the risk of an Israel-Iran conflict, addressing an issue the region has feared since the start of Israel's war in Gaza.
