Over 1,200 travel professionals came together to create an extensive guide to the best shoreside spots across the entire globe for 2018.

The best beach in the world has been voted Shipwreck Beach in Zakynthos, Greece, which scored 10/10 in the category “sheer untouched beauty” and 8/10 for its “sand and water quality”.

Shipwreck Beach is one of the most photographed sites, if not the most photographed site, on the Greek island of Zakynthos. The focal point is the MV Panagiotis, a ship that ran aground in 1980.

With an area of over 156 square miles, Zakynthos boasts a coastline 76 miles in length. Gerakas Beach is the southernmost beach of Zakynthos and is definitely one of the island’s most beautiful.

The awards are out for the annual Best Beaches in the U.S. list, and a Florida beach takes the top spot.
