Nvidia has just added adaptive refresh rates to GeForce Now, its cloud gaming service. The new tech, dubbed Cloud G-Sync, works on PCs with Nvidia GPUs first and foremost , but also on Macs.

But today, with Nvidia’s just-now-released GeForce Now app for the Steam Deck, I can play every one of those titles at near-max settings, anywhere in my home, for hours and hours on a charge.

Nvidia’s service lets you link your GeForce Now account with major PC gaming storefronts — Steam, yes, but also alternatives like Ubisoft, Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, and the Epic Games Store.

While NVIDIA GeForce Now allows subscribers to play games on remote rigs with up to a GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, that doesn't mean you should max out all the settings in every game you play.
