Police tweeted the man was driving to "meet a lady" when he ended up in Newton Abbot Police Station's car park. It was there he took a "wrong turn", stumbling into the off-duty sergeant.

Emergency services, including the Devon Air Ambulance, were called to the scene in the Brunel Road area of Newton Abbot at around 10.10am. Paramedics and police officers also attended the incident.
