Manchester United remain confident of finalising a deal for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Mbeumo has told confidants he only wants to join United but well-placed sources say that has not deterred Spurs, who appointed Thomas Frank as their new coach last week.

Bryan Mbeumo still prefers a transfer to Manchester United after Tottenham launched a £70 million offer for the Brentford forward, according to reports. United are intent on strengthening Ruben Amorim’s attacking options ahead of the new season and completed their £62.5 million deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves this week.

Julien Laurens believes Bryan Mbeumo will choose to join Tottenham over Man United because of Thomas Frank and the opportunity to play Champions League football.
