Guinness World Records (GWR) has confirmed more than 40 records were broken at Sunday’s London Marathon, including the largest number of finishers ever. A total of 56,640 participants crossed the finish line, beating the 55,646 set by the TCS New York City marathon in November 2024.

The London Marathon set a new world record for the most finishers, surpassing the previous record held by the New York City Marathon. Kenyan Sabastian Sawe won the men's race while Ethiopian Tigst Assefa broke the women's-only world record.
