The boil water advisory for Marietta has been lifted as of Sunday morning, according to officials. Marietta Water issued a boil water advisory on Friday after a water main break occurred in the area around Lawrence Street and Covington Avenue. Water samples were sent for testing and the water is now safe to drink.

Marietta Water said the water main break happened on Lawrence Street near Covington Avenue, which caused parts of the water system to drop to ‘dangerously low levels.’

Officials say the advisory is in effect until Marietta Water has completed the appropriate testing to be confident that there is no longer a public health concern.
