Rain is expected in Connecticut again this week which could further push baseball and softball schedules back with conference and CIAC tournaments approaching

In 4A softball, North Augusta and Midland Valley battled in an elimination game in the South Carolina High School League state tournament. It was a highly anticipated rematch from last week. The Yellowjackets were hoping to seek some revenge after falling 16-7 against the Mustangs at Riverview Park last week.

In the second round of the Class 2 District 6 Softball Tournament, the Diamond Wildcats took on the Lamar Lady Tigers at a neutral field on the campus of Mt. Vernon High School. Wildcats pitcher Taelyn Reeder got things going in the field for Diamond with all three of the team’s outs
