The storm could become Tropical Storm Barry within the next 24 hours, before it’s forecasted to hit the Mexican coastline Monday.

If it does reach tropical storm status, which would be under the name Tropical Storm Barry, it would become the second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season

Barry made landfall as a tropical depression off the eastern Gulf Coast of Mexico on Sunday night, and was expected to bring heavy rains and flash flooding to the North American nation over the next few days.
