Philippine police officials have filed criminal complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte and her security staff for allegedly assaulting authorities and disobeying orders in a recent altercation in Congress.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr said on Friday it would not be good for the country if an impeachment complaint is filed against his estranged vice president. Marcos told reporters lodging an impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte will not make any difference to people's lives and would only tie down Congress.

Sara Duterte held an early press conference to announce she had directed someone to kill Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, his wife and the speaker of the House.
