A civil jury in Ireland has awarded more than $250,000 to a woman who says she was raped by mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor in a Dublin hotel penthouse after a night of heavy partying.

The MMA star previously told the court he had consensual sex with Ms Hand in a penthouse at the Beacon Hotel. Ms Hand, who is also known as Nikita Ni Laimhin, is also suing another man, James Lawrence, for assault.

The court was told that McGregor allegedly "brutally raped and battered" Hand in December 2018 but the Irish sports star claimed they had consensual sex.

A civil court jury awarded Nikita Hand nearly €250,000 after she accused Conor McGregor of assaulting her in a Dublin hotel in 2018. McGregor denied the allegations, claiming the encounter was consensual.
