At the time (1958) of activation of the 24th Inf Div in Germany, the Division was organized under modified PENTOMIC (ROCID) Tables with three infantry (1 BG,19 Inf; 1 BG, 21 Inf; 1 BG, 34 Inf) and two airborne infantry (1 ABG, 187 Inf; 1 ABG, 503 Inf) battle groups.
