The Arbor portrays the short life of playwright Andrea Dunbar (Rita, Sue and Bob Too) through recreations of interviews with her close family. Usually this kind of overtly theatrical presentation grates on me, but for some reason I always come back to this one. It's dead serious, as all social realism is nowadays, but the experimental nature makes it a bit more loose and enjoyable, and bantery to me...when usually it's has the opposite effect; stuffy safe and restricted. It's a strange one. #the
