Valse Lente was composed by Germaine Tailleferre, one of the few women to receive recognition in the French classical music scene in her lifetime, and the only female member of the French composer group "Les Six". I'm a big admirer of her work and she is just one of the five female composers I'll be honouring on my upcoming album Saint-Saëns.
