Leroy shot his way into show business in 1957, while working as a journalist, when his self-penned "Auctioneer" soared to #9 on the Country singles chart. He then joined Red Foley's ABC-TV Network "Ozark Jubilee" in Springfield, Missouri, as a regular member.
