Today we have a video of our favourite part of bat rescue and rehabilitation, the release! This is Hazel, a sub adult black flying fox that was rescued from inappropriate fruit netting a few weeks ago. As Hazel was trying to feed on some oranges her wrist became tightly entangled in the netting. This kind of entanglement can easily cause serious injury but thankfully the homeowners spotted her quickly and called us straight away. The Learning Center exterior is almost complete, with the school bus parking currently being worked on. Funds are still needed for the handicap ramp. The interior will include interactive displays including the original wooden box, built in 1988, that housed Sunshine, the little bat who began the legacy of Bat World Sanctuary.
